Happ Configurations: Subscription and Single Configs
Happ connects using Xray-core configurations — sets of parameters that tell the app which server and protocol to use. You can only get them through the service Telegram bot, and you add them to Happ either as a single subscription link or as an individual config. The choice between the two affects how convenient and stable your connection is.
What a configuration actually is
A configuration is essentially an encrypted set of data for Xray-core: server address, protocol, port, and encryption keys. The Happ app reads this data to establish a secure connection. Without a valid configuration there's no connection, so it's important to get it only from the official Happ Telegram bot rather than from third-party sources.
Subscription link vs single config
There are two ways to add access to Happ:
- Subscription link — bundles multiple servers and updates automatically, so the app can pick up new addresses without manual edits.
- Single config — a fixed set of parameters for one specific server, with no auto-updates.
For most users, a subscription link is more convenient: it needs less manual maintenance and makes switching servers easier.
How to add a configuration to the app
Keys and links are issued in the Happ Telegram bot. From there you copy them and add them to the app, usually via importing the link or scanning a QR code, depending on the platform. For a step-by-step walkthrough across Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, and Smart TV, see /en/setup/.
Where keys are issued and stored
All keys and configurations are tied to your account in the service Telegram bot — that's also where you can see which links are active and request new ones. Read more on /en/keys/, and check the general logic of working with configurations in the app on /en/configurations/.
When to switch to a different configuration
If a server feels slow or the connection drops, try switching to another configuration within the same subscription link — that's often faster than troubleshooting a single fixed config. Browse available servers and tips for choosing one on /en/servers/.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a subscription link and a single config?
A subscription bundles several servers and updates automatically, while a single config is fixed parameters for one specific server.
Where do I get a configuration for Happ?
Only through the Happ service Telegram bot, which issues both keys and subscription links for the app.
Can I add more than one configuration at once?
Yes, Happ can store several links or configs and let you switch between them in the app.
Do I need to update a configuration manually?
With a subscription link, updates usually happen automatically; a single config may need to be replaced by hand.
